Air Force Academy Stables - With the Rampart Range as its playground, the Academy Equestrian Center awaits those who want to ride the Rockies! Located just a few miles from the heart of Colorado Springs, the academy's full-service campus offers 44,000 acres of natural beauty. Hikers can explore over 1,000 acres of trails or venture into the backcountry of neighboring Pike National Forest.

The equestrian center also offers special events such as horse racing seminars, dark horse riding, organized trails, and hayrides. Full and part time boarding is available. Horses are available for seasonal rental during the fall and winter. The Equestrian Center hosts the AFA Cadet Equestrian and Rodeo teams and works closely with other community organizations.

Air Force Academy Stables

The center is located south of Pine Valley and west of Air Academy High School. Facilities include several stables, a round pen, two arenas, a paddock, toilets and public facilities.

Life On Base

Group trail rides are a great way for beginners to gain experience or for experienced riders to learn the trails. Enjoy beautiful scenery on one and two hour drives through our beautiful wooded and open trails. Please call for schedule and availability. Space is limited, reservations required, ages 8+. group trailer ride rates

Line Line Rent a horse for your child's experience! At the age of 6-12, he takes the horse with his parents. 6 and rents to pet/lead/groom our mini horses with parental support (no riding).

These classes are for ages 8+ (randomly assessed at 6-7) and include instruction in walking, grooming, saddle and proper manners. Eligible patrons may board their horses at the Equestrian Center. Call 719-333-2294 for details. trailer-ins
