Air Force Academy Famcamp - For most of us, 2020 was the year of the "staycation" as we postponed non-essential travel to deal with the coronavirus pandemic. And while making it around the kitchen table isn't quite the same as making it over a campfire, many of us take every opportunity, enjoying an even closer relationship with family.
This year, the introduction of a Covid-19 vaccine gives us hope that travel and vacations can be restored to their former glory, and that socially distanced outdoor venues are among the safest places to visit. RV campgrounds and RV parks at military installations have always been an extraordinary, not-so-secret destination for active duty and their dependents across the country. Most military FamCamps and RV parks are significantly less expensive than comparable recreation areas in each area. In addition, depending on the site, the service may also be available to certain DOD veterans and employees. While we're now looking for ways to enjoy some fresh air on a budget, these campgrounds and RV sites are an even better deal.
